Meet The Band Members
Origins
In September of 2021, Marc, our drummer, purchased a drum set and played it in his basement for a couple of months, listening to some songs on his headphones and trying to bang the drums along to them. He apparently learned that playing the drums is fricking difficult! Who knew? He probably should have attempted drums when he was younger - other than those 30 days during one summer in his friend Nick's garage waaaay back in high school (you know, like 15 years ago!). It didn't take long for him to realize though that playing drums by himself gets a little lonely and repetitive. This may surprise you, but he's kinda a goal-oriented dude. So....

The next month - October - Marc was sitting with his friend "Super Dave" on the front-porch of his lake house in central Florida drinking ONE beer. :-)

Marc: "Hey Super Dave - I think I want to start a band!"
Dave replied, "Cool, I used to play bass guitar 'back in the day' before I joined the Navy. I'll be in your band, Marc!"

Of course, Dave knew it was just the one beer talking. I mean, who starts a band at the ripe old age of 56 having never played a musical instrument?? That's crazy, right? Okay, admittedly, Marc's done crazier things. One of his favorite quotes though is: "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!"

A few weeks later, the word got out that Marc was starting a band and people he barely knew actually started showing up at his house for practice. Wait, what?! Strangers and friends are showing up at his house with instruments and they are expecting Marc to know how to play the drums - like playing something with a consistent tempo. Ummm... Apparently, he really needed to learn how to play an actual song on the drums - and quickly!

Marc's basement is pretty small. It got even smaller with people and instruments crammed into it. So his wife suggested (strongly) that they move to an old abandoned fertilizer warehouse in downtown Havana. The warehouse was an absolute mess - completely filled with junk and Ammonium Nitrate dust from 100-yr old rotting, rat-infested fertilizer bags (see journey page). Nonetheless, the warehouse had AMAZING character and the owner let them use it for free (that was very nice) so they started cleaning it (thanks to everyone who helped clean it, btw) and they had their 1st "official" band practice there. They didn't really know any cover songs yet, so they all just did their own thing playing - well - whatever. They were (how do I say this?) musically-challenged - well Marc was, for sure. A few town locals showed up one night to listen to them but they didn't stay long. Apparently, they were expecting some type of concert - but they didn't get one - not even close. They WERE loud though - they did mention that!

The newly minted band members played in that beautiful, delipidated, rat-infested, abandoned fertilizer warehouse throughout the month of February 2022, but it got hot in there fast (we live in Florida - no air conditioning - and the tin roof leaked), so they moved into yet another eclectic space next to Marc's wife's furniture gallery and coffee shop in Havana. That is their current location. They practice almost every Monday night.

The band had some setbacks in October 2022; they lost some key members, but then they quickly gained back some even more bad-ass, committed members. The goal, though, never changed - play a live concert, on-stage, by October 2023 - and not completely suck. They are pretty sure that 'bucket list' particular goal was reached. So they sold EVERYTHING and the story ends there. Just kidding! :-) Their new goal? Well, now they just want to keep making music together, perform on-stage and have fun doing it. Living the rock-star dream, baby!

We look forward to you attending our upcoming concerts. Oh yeah, we 'suggest' a two-drink minimum! No, we don't mean that you have to PURCHASE two alcoholic drinks - what we mean is that we 'suggest' that you INGEST a minimum of two alcoholic drinks before we start our first song. We'll sound much better! :-)

Thanks to all our fans, friends and families for supporting us and helping us setup and breakdown! You guys rock.
